On Jan. 26, seven Sequoia Pathway students gained an inside look into the new Microsoft retail store in Chandler Fashion Square. The select group was invited for a private tour to work with Microsoft employees on new technology, including Surface tablets and computers. Not only were many topics discussed such as computer and 'app' programming/coding, but also inquiries regarding employment in high tech companies such as Microsoft were answered. Plans are underway for the group to work with retailer that include clinics for the public and networking with industry professionals. The trip was organized as a part of the Pathway Province Partnership (a collaborative effort between Pathway students and staff and members of the active adult community of Province in Maricopa, Arizona) and Microsoft's Community Development Director Chanel Dudoit.  more

Sequoia Charter Schools - Where Every Child Is Known

The Sequoia Charter School District was founded on these simple core values:

  • We know every child and we exist to meet their needs.
  • We respect and we are kind and courteous to all people, at all times and in all communications.
  • We lead by agreement.
  • We continually strive for excellence.

Sequoia Schools was founded in 1996 with the intent of working together WITH families in the education of their children in an environment where every child is know by all of the staff in a very positive environment with high expectations. Too often young people do not feel accepted and fall through the cracks in many of the very large schools found in our communities today. Furthermore, meeting the needs of young people is further complicated by the fact that a majority of children are raised by a single parent, where often the single parent is not always available to provide the educational and nurturing support needed at home.

Therefore, the working relationship of the family and the school is critical to the success of the student. As most people realize, lots of quality communication and trust is vital for the success and happiness of each student.
